TRUSTING CAN HELP BUILD OUR CHARACTER!
Webster’s defines the word trust as: A : firm belief in the character, ability, strength, or truth of someone or something B : a person or thing in which confidence is placed.
Three days a week I drive to Manhattan, MT where I take care a an elderly gentleman, and on my way there I drive
over the bridge of the Gallatin River, I am always reminded of these verses in the bible found in the book of Jeremiah.
Jeremiah 17:7-9 New King James Version (NKJV)
7 “Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord,
And whose hope is the Lord.
8 For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters,
Which spreads out its roots by the river,
And will not fear when heat comes;
But its leaf will be green,
And will not be anxious in the year of drought,
Nor will cease from yielding fruit.
It is one of my most favorite verse’s and I read it often, it gives me such hope
when I am feeling weak and discouraged. I love the part that say’s the tree spreads out it’s root’s by the river.
That is were it gets it source because the roots go deep, deep down so when the river is low it can still get it’s nourishment.
This is how I want to be when I am struggling with something in my life, that I know where my source comes from. That my roots go deep deep down in my relationship with my Heavenly Father who say’s I can put my hope in Him.
It is not easy when I have things staring me in the face that seem impossible. Do you have these moments where you have thing’s staring at you with no answer in sight? I would love to say I
don’t but I do, which frustrates me so when I fall into doubt knowing that my Heavenly Father promises that He will take care
of my needs and give me the answers, and the wisdom to know what to do.
Oh dear beautiful one place your hope in Him for He cares for you and knows your every need. Let your
roots grow deep in Him. Blessing to you, Shanna
