We had a guest speaker yesterday at church and he spoke on Psalms 23
This was written by King David, many believe that David was an old man by then
and was looking back at his life. David made a lot of mistakes in his life,
yet God still said he was a man after His own heart. The most important thing
I got out of his message was in verse 4 “Even though I walk through the darkest
valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff,
they comfort me”. I know for myself I try to do things on my own, thinking I
better take care of the situation, but I on my own mess it up, God on the
other hand has the answer. He will guide me if I give the situation to him.
He is the one with the wisdom and knowledge. If you are like me, I forget the
the power He has and how much He loves me as His child. Verse 5 “You prepare a
table before me in the presence of my enemies”. When we are so busy trying to
fight the battle He steps in and says lets sit down and have a snack….I’m like
what, can’t you see I am fighting this battle? They He says yes, and reminds me
I am not the one who can fight the battle He is. Rest in Him DEAR ONE He longs
to fight your battles for you. Sit down with Him and have a snack, and let Him
bring on the strategies for your situation.
He loves you with an everlasting love!!!
A psalm of David.
1 The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing.
2 He makes me lie down in green pastures,
he leads me beside quiet waters,
3 he refreshes my soul.
He guides me along the right paths
for his name’s sake.
4 Even though I walk
through the darkest valley,
I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
they comfort me.
5 You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.
6 Surely your goodness and love will follow me
all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the Lord
